ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following:
- Regular predictable attendance with the ability to be flex schedule when needed, including non-standard working hours (ex. nights and weekends)
- Carbon Neutrality Strategy & Execution
- Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s carbon neutrality roadmap aligned with corporate goals and industry standards (e.g., SBTi).
- Identify and evaluate decarbonization opportunities, including energy efficiency projects, renewable energy sourcing, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, finance) to integrate carbon reduction strategies into business planning.
- Influence Capital Funding
- Develop business cases for carbon and sustainability-related capital projects, including ROI, payback, and environmental impact assessments.
- Partner with finance and operations teams to secure funding and track execution of approved sustainability investments.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to executive leadership to prioritize initiatives with the highest environmental and financial value.
- Environmental Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Compile, analyze, and report environmental performance metrics (e.g., GHG emissions, energy use, water consumption, waste reduction).
- Lead the preparation of corporate environmental disclosures (CDP, ESG reports, customer scorecards) and respond to customer and regulatory inquiries.
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in all sustainability reporting to meet regulatory, customer, and internal audit requirements.
- IMDS & CBAM Compliance
- Oversee maintenance and submission of product material declarations through the International Material Data System (IMDS) to meet automotive industry requirements.
- Coordinate CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) data collection and reporting to comply with EU regulations and support international trade.
- Work closely with product engineering and supply chain teams to collect accurate materials and emissions data.
- Leadership Influence & Advocacy
- Serve as a subject matter expert to executive leadership, providing guidance on sustainability trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leaders to communicate progress, recommend initiatives, and support policy or strategic changes.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the organization by training and engaging stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; ability to translate technical data into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven ability to build business cases and influence capital allocation decisions.
- Effective communicator, comfortable presenting to executive audiences and engaging cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and emerging global sustainability standards.
- Project management skills, with ability to lead multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Help other departments as necessary. Provide guidance on sustainability requirements, process and procedures.
- Creates company and departmental goals to support company sustainability targets. Creates performance reports, presentations and countermeasures to corporate leaders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 7+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental compliance, or related roles preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
