Analysis Engineer I - J0048944 at Astemo Ltd.
The Analysis Engineer will be part of the xEV Inverter team supporting Electric Vehicle products. This role is responsible for diagnosing and analyzing returned parts from internal operations, customer complaints, and warranty claims. The focus is on identifying root causes of failures of Power Control Units (PCU), inverter assemblies, and other internal components. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate failure analysis, support corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform failure analysis on returned PCU and inverter components: 30%
- Document findings and generate detailed reports for internal and customer use: 20%
- Collaborate with Quality, Design, and Test Engineering teams to identify root causes: 15%
- Support warranty claim investigations and customer complaint resolution: 15%
- Maintain analysis procedures and ensure compliance with quality standards: 10%
- Other duties as assigned: 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field
- Experience with electro‑mechanical systems and component‑level diagnostics
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on an as needed basis (up to 5%)
- Experience in electrical, automotive or EV industry
- Familiarity with inverter systems and PCU components
- Knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, and root cause analysis tools (5‑Why, Fishbone, etc.)
- Experience with electrical systems and customer return processes
- Bilingual in Japanese (not required)
- Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed
- Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting
- Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
- Ability to lift 35lbs from floor to a height of 4ft
- Ability to push or pull pallet jack up to 450lbs
- Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
- Ability to use hand tools and view small components through a microscope for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel for business (Domestic and Overseas)
- Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High accuracy and attention to detail
