Senior Electrical Engineer (Substations)
Position overview and compensation details are provided by Wesco. The base pay range is $92,095.00/yr - $/yr. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience. This role may include participation in bonus or incentive plans; equity and other compensation may also be provided as part of the total package. Benefits details are available through Wesco.
Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical substation engineering projects.
- Create technical specifications for major equipment and provide engineering support for projects.
- Collaborate with design, electrical, mechanical, automation, electronic engineers, and others to design, recommend, and execute appropriate technology solutions for clients.
- Collaborate with supplier engineering/technical resources to develop comprehensive apparatus product specifications that align with our supplier network and customer needs.
- Serve as the SME on supplier, industry, and client emerging technologies and trends.
- Lead technical application training for assigned Wesco sales teams when necessary.
- Provide technical support and expertise for assigned Wesco sales teams.
- Work with sales and other Wesco support teams to identify, sell, and integrate Wesco value-add solutions.
- Provide post-sales engineering and technical support when applicable.
- Communicate technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles as applied to substation engineering, design, and operation in the electric utility industry.
- Identify and clarify technical ambiguities and conflicts in RFQ and project documents.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Automation, robotics, or related field, or equivalent education/experience required.
- Master's Degree in Engineering or related technology field preferred.
- 5 years of Electrical, Automation, Mechanical, or Electronic design, application and/or technical sales experience; 7 years preferred.
- Experience in leadership responsibilities managing project teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
- Proven track record in project management.
- Strong coordination, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
- Strong product knowledge and application knowledge.
- PLC and HMI programming skills; panel design and layout experience.
- Proficiency in Solid Works or similar software.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
