The Design Engineer produces detailed engineering drawings using CAD software, applies design standards throughout project development, and prepares cost estimates for materials and labor on transportation projects. This role collaborates with various INDOT engineering departments to resolve design challenges, coordinates necessary clearances, and supports the delivery of high-quality highway and transportation infrastructure projects with the Indiana Department of Transportation in Greenfield.
Keyqualifications:
- Professional Engineer license in Indiana required (or EIT/FE certification with active pursuit of PE licensure)
- Valid Driver's License
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering theories and highway/transportation design standards
- Considerable knowledge of CAD and computer-aided design and drafting
- Knowledge of AASHTO Design Specifications, ASTM Standards, and Indiana Design Manual
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in engineering, civil engineering, or transportation-related field
