What You’ll Do

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all of the internal and external operations and global strategies of the company including contributing to the development of the organization's strategic goals. In addition to the operational and strategic components, the General Manager will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures relating to the company's general operational realms and service delivery model.

Accountabilities

in the Role
  • Oversees all external operations and sets clear direction for all managers and provides leadership and coaching to individuals and multiple team members to ensure company goals are met.
  • Works with all managers to identify, design, document, and continually improve best management practices including the deployment of required process to ensure exceptional client services.
  • Manages at a 15k elevation view of the business in its service delivery approach at all times. Leverages an understanding of the customer from an outside perspective and then works to align their needs with the service delivery model of the company.
  • Assesses existing processes to determine where best practices have already been developed and what needs to be integrated into the service delivery model. You will continually identify the needs of others, develop action plans, roll process improvement initiatives, obtains buy-in from all stakeholders and oversees execution, and manages accountability.
  • Works on building a collaborative team environment. Effectively gathers cross-functional input and insights to define best practices to improve and implement processes.
  • Works in close partnership with the leadership team, including the Director of Operations, Landscape Director of Operations, Fleet Manager, Controller and the CEO on required short term goals and long-term objectives.
  • Works with CEO to develop operational baselines, help identifies appropriate data to track and manages provided dashboards to assess business unit operational performance to understand and effectively communicate the overall impact of the co's service delivery model.
  • Documents all standards and develops appropriate training and communications plans for key TEAM members, providing communicative and visual training materials to facilitate the success of the customer service delivery model.
Position Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree Business/Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience:

    5+ years of Operational experience in landscaping or related service industries.
  • Functional

    Skills:

    Strong planning, analyzing, prioritizing and execution skills. Solid math and problem-solving skills;
    Able to manage multiple projects at one time and do it well; high attention to details and making sure things are right. Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness on the job with excellent follow-through.
  • Technology

    Skills:

    Advanced technology skills; proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
