Business Development Manager - Branded Gasoline
The Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing branded, unbranded gasoline and diesel opportunities in the Indianapolis, IN and Southern Indiana region. They grow and maintain the customer base.
Job Responsibilities- Pursue gasoline and diesel opportunities, build relationships with business customers.
- Integrate feasibility studies into marketing strategies to acquire new business.
- Maintain outstanding customer service and rapport with current and potential customers.
- Stay familiar with industry market trends and branded program changes.
- Think and react quickly under pressure, providing knowledgeable response.
- Work with sales manager to put together deals that meet ROI goals.
- Shop competition and identify potential lost business.
- Leads successful sales process to owners, group councils, board of directors.
- Cold call potential customers, present proposals, negotiate contracts for long-term exclusive contracts.
- Initiate re-sign process for current customers within two years of expiration.
- Achieve outcomes through consultative sales process, relationship-based solutions to business problems.
- Conduct data analyses to track purchasing volume versus goals.
- Develop sales territory to meet or exceed profitability goals as defined by strategic plan.
- Keep customer current with updated pricing information.
- Provide marketing and promotional designs to expand sales.
- Assess and monitor competition to identify potential or lost business.
- Drive to customer locations, establish relationships, solve problems.
- Determine customer requirements for new products and services, introduce new products to ongoing accounts.
- Develop additional profitable business in specified markets and customer segments through inbound or outbound calls.
- Inform designated sales personnel of potential sales leads, orders, quotations.
- Maintain accurate files relating to customer contact and sales opportunities.
- Update and maintain CRM (Salesforce) after each visit.
- Live company values of high performance, caring relationships, strategic foresight, entrepreneurial spirit.
- Continuously learn and develop professionally.
- Support corporate safety, compliance, and company policies & procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- 0-5 years proven outside sales experience in products field.
- Degree in Business Administration or related field a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire new business through cold calls.
- Action-oriented, self-motivated with ability to lead and make decisions.
- Professional representation of organization.
- Positive information delivery.
- Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office.
- At least two years related industry sales or customer service experience.
- Build positive business relationships.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Ability to travel locally daily and overnight up to 20% of time.
