- Compensation: $17.63 – $20.27 – $23.65 per hour (based on grade)
A dual position that functions as a CNA or Monitor Tech depending on unit needs. In the Monitor Tech role, the responsibilities include initiating and discontinuing monitor equipment, high‑level surveillance of cardiac monitors, analyzing rhythms, and placing rhythm strips in the patient’s chart.
Job Responsibilities- Initiate and discontinue monitor equipment on admission, discharge, and transfer. Assign monitor to the patient upon admission and enter patient information into the telemetry system.
- Maintain a log of the location of all monitors each shift. Clean monitors when discontinued and discontinue the patient in the system when telemetry is discontinued.
- High‑level surveillance of cardiac monitors. Monitor all telemetry patient rhythms on inpatient units. Individualize patient alarms and ensure all alarms are active.
- Analyze rhythms and report changes immediately to the RN. Print patient strips, document rhythm on the printout, and place the strip in the patient’s chart.
- Demonstrate Baystate Health’s operating principles: communication, respect, integrity, trust, & collaboration. Maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain patient safety as the number one priority. Respond promptly to all patient call bells and fall alarms. Ensure fall prevention interventions are in place and communicate necessary information.
- Monitor basic physiological parameters and record routine vital signs in the electronic medical record. Report significant deviations or findings immediately.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients, establishing collaborative relationships.
- Initiate emergency procedures and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Participate in unit staff meetings, educational progress, and adherence to Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Established Work Expectations.

Non‑Graduate (Required)
Certifications- Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
