GREENFIELD Protective Services Worker
An exciting full‑time opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to elder protective services. This position is located in the Franklin County area, with a hybrid work environment based in our Greenfield office. As a Protective Services Worker you will conduct thorough assessments of reports of elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and self‑neglect, and provide services or referrals to help mitigate risks.
You will work closely with local agencies and affiliated professionals, demonstrating excellent crisis intervention, detail orientation, interpersonal communication, and strong partnership skills.
Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 35‑hour work week. Availability for off‑hour emergencies and training is required. Pay is $24.72 per hour with a 6% differential for bilingual skills. A $1,500 sign‑on bonus is paid in two equal installments at 60 days and 9 months of employment. Opportunities to earn additional compensation by serving on the on‑call team after six months of service are available.

- Receive reports of abuse, neglect, self‑neglect, financial exploitation, and self‑neglect of elders age 60 and over.
- Conduct in‑depth investigations to determine whether abuse, neglect, self‑neglect, or financial exploitation has occurred.
- Respond to emergency situations providing crisis intervention as appropriate.
- Develop and implement service plans with participation and approval of elders.
- With supervisory input, determine the need for a court petition for a Protective Order or Guardianship/Conservatorship/Rep. Payee.
- Initiate and participate in case conferences with service providers and/or family members as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Life Path staff, service providers, and other professionals.
- Report situations involving serious abuse, exploitation, or death to the DA's office.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in client’s file.
- Participate in on‑call Emergency Beeper Coverage.
- Educate the community (general public, mandated reporters, service providers, elders) on what constitutes abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation, how to make a Protective Services Report, and what the Protective Services Program can and cannot do.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, criminal justice, public health, gerontology or a related field or advanced studies.
- At least three years of experience in a related field.
