Part-Time Bilingual Preschool Teacher | Southwest YMCA

20 Hours per Week | Tuesdays & Wednesdays
The Part-Time Bilingual Preschool Teacher provides high-quality, culturally responsive early learning experiences for children ages 3–5 in a grant-funded bilingual program. This position supports kindergarten readiness by teaching the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and linguistically—while creating a welcoming environment where every child and family feels a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities- Provide bilingual instruction and support for children ages 3–5.
- Implement Creative Curriculum through engaging, play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Support kindergarten readiness in early literacy, language, math, science, social-emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and independence.
- Create learning experiences that celebrate children’s home languages, cultures, families, and individual strengths.
- Observe children’s development and use observations to individualize learning experiences and document progress.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families and communicate with families in their preferred language whenever possible.
- Maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment that meets YMCA and Colorado child care licensing standards.
- Collaborate with Director and teaching staff to meet program and grant goals and document program outcomes.
- Model the YMCA of Metro Denver’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Innovation.
- Bilingual required; ability to communicate effectively with children and families in both English and the program’s second language.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably ages 3–5.
- Knowledge of or experience with Creative Curriculum preferred.
- Must meet applicable Colorado Department of Early Childhood/PDIS requirements for the position.
- Understanding of whole-child development, culturally responsive teaching, and kindergarten-readiness practices.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and teamwork skills.
Schedule Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
