We are looking for a
Senior Project Engineer
to join the Greenfield team.
This position is responsible for completing various technical and engineering-related tasks and deliverables, managing and/or coordinating various scopes of work in all stages of the project lifecycle, and providing project management and coordination to civil and road-related upgrade and maintenance projects as required by the business. Providing general leadership throughout the organisation in project delivery, quality, health, and safety.
- Reviews and critiques engineering data, deliverables, documentation, and other information as required for the job.
- Identifies, reviews, and proposes practical engineering solutions meeting client needs.
- Identifies technical and engineering resources needed to complete jobs and where necessary, seeks to leverage existing resources to deliver works.
- Plans, designs, or carries out projects or tasks with limited or partial information, objectives and/or outcomes demonstrating sound engineering and project management judgement.
- Strong knowledge of key road engineering deliverables and the selection of the correct deliverables to meet project objectives.
- Evaluates and critiques proposed solutions from an engineering perspective and considers risks associated with engineered solutions.
- Prepares, reviews, and contributes to technical reports and other documentation to a high standard with limited supervision.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of fundamental industry standards for road engineering construction for unsealed/sealed roads and drainage.
- Leads and strongly contributes to providing clients with specialist technical advice and consulting services in civil and road engineering.
- Determines appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies.
- Provides technical assistance, support, and mentoring to others within the business as required.
- Establishes priorities to meet engineering and technical deadlines.
Project Management
- Plans, designs, or carries out projects or tasks without well-defined objectives and outcomes.
- Determines appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies.
- Leads civil construction projects leveraging a thorough knowledge of construction and contracts and strong professional communication skills.
- Adapts to changing work priorities and workplace practices.
- Uses a range of assessment techniques and standard project management practices to monitor the success of a project or task including setting project milestones.
- Establishes priorities to meet deadlines.
- Modifies project work plans as appropriate and communicates those changes to the team to ensure the project is not derailed.
- Provides on-going project updates regarding progress to keep others informed of status and outstanding issues.
- Monitors and manages project budgets and cash flow and takes action to address deviations from planned expenditure.
- Identifies potential variations and assesses these in the context of the project, organisation, and other contexts.
Leadership
- Identifies business needs and contributes technical engineering mentoring and advice to colleagues as required.
- Builds a cohesive team (both internal and external) with clarity around goals and accountabilities.
- Builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction and motivates others to deliver against goals.
- Obtains required personnel, resources, and information for the team.
- Supports individuals and the team, delegating responsibilities appropriately and consistent with business objectives.
