PROGRAM: RECOVER Project
JOB TITLE: Assistant Director Full-time, Exempt Position
Position SummaryThe RECOVER Project Assistant Director will provide leadership to a dynamic team in realizing the vision of a safe, welcoming, recovery-informed community, one which supports recovery by sharing the wisdom of our lived experience and strengthens our community through full participation. Create resource connections, advocate to overcome barriers, and promote the reality that recovery is possible for all. Primary responsibilities include creating conditions for meaningful community engagement through a peer participatory process, program development, networking with local and state providers, coalition building, staff supervision and budget management.
The leader in this position is responsible for modeling values and recovery, including actively promoting growth and wellness for themselves and the RP Staff Team and Community.
The leader in this role will demonstrate and model accountability to their own path of recovery, however that is defined. They will ensure that all related functions reflect the Consortium’s mission and values, including a long-held commitment to valuing a social justice framework which encourages a sense of belonging. This person will work collaboratively with the Social Justice Director to address issues related to equity and inclusion.
The RECOVER Project Assistant Director will serve as liaison with foundational needs including property, fiscal, IT and development.
General Duties Program Development- Utilizing a Peer Participatory process, ensure effective program design, implementation, evaluation and ongoing renewal.
- Articulate program specific values & practices
- Ensure staff and community members are trained in the Peer Participatory approach and that they understand and are actively practicing Recovery Support Principles
- Oversee and participate in program activities and administration
- Support Internal Committee-specific work whether standing or ad hoc
- Responsible for ensuring program operational and IT needs are met by accessing agency support
- Facilitate processes that articulate program specific values & practices; utilizing a Peer Participatory Process review and refresh practices
- Facilitate processes to assess member satisfaction and program effectiveness
- Ensure effective and safe support is in place for all activities that are held onsite, or virtually, after typical hours, whether RP related or sublet based.
- Serve as lead contact for addressing concerns raised with staff, RP members, community, etc.
- Content development for Grant and other proposals to support program operations & activities; work closely with the Program Director and Development Director to ensure content has continuity and deadlines are met
- Engage in fundraising/fund development and grant writing to support program sustainability
- Ensure all reporting related to funds is comprehensive and timely
- Support Peer-Participatory process with identifying multi-prong approach to meeting funding needs
- Ensure all fund development activities reflect organizational values
- Cultivate donors, ensure prompt response in communication and tracking of all donations
- Works with the Program Director and Development Director to create conditions for peer engagement in fund development.
- Teams with the Program Director and Development Director to develop proposals and identify new funding sources reflective of community specific needs and expressed goals. Teams with RP employees and the Development Director to prepare for and respond to RFRs
- Responsible for promoting recovery values in agency activities
- Address needs related to program that reflect on the agency culture and values, such as supporting positive values and interactions, enhancing morale
- Participate in agency events such as the employee appreciation luncheon
- Seek ways to recognize and lift the work of others; identify potential collaborative opportunities, as relevant, with Consortium sibling programs or other community-based programs external to the agency
