You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the Role

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and provision of center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How

You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, conduct medical history interviews, perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and follow medical emergency protocols, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalency of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • State licensure requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation

and Benefits Summary

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.60 – $46.20. The actual hourly wage offered may vary with qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision insurance, disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
