Surgical Certified Veterinary Technician
Join Midwest Veterinary Specialists as a Surgical Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in our Surgery, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, Wisconsin. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment with board‑certified surgeons and rehabilitation specialists focused on exceptional patient care and client service.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient evaluations & therapies (history, vitals, medication dispensing, epidural injections, PRP preparations, etc.)
- Perform anesthesia duties (drug calculations, IV catheter placement, induction, fluid administration, monitoring) for sedated and anesthetized patients
- Assist surgeons during surgery
- Conduct diagnostic procedures (x‑ray, laboratory diagnostics, CT, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
- Restrain animals for examination and diagnostics
- Maintain surgical instruments (cleaning, packing, sterilization, general maintenance)
- Carry out physical therapy exercises and modalities under DVM supervision
- Provide nursing care and TLC for patients
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate and communicate with clients
- Keep a clean and orderly work environment
- Certified Veterinary Technician license
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience (required)
- Previous experience in veterinary surgery desirable but not required
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude with strong attention to detail
