Ealing Swimming Club (ESC) in West London has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Squad Coach to join a growing team as Assistant Performance Coach, to help deliver our programme. The ideal candidate will be positive and committed to motivating swimmers to reach their potential.
ESC is one of the biggest swimming clubs in the UK. We have teachers and coaches across the borough delivering a huge watersports program for ages 4 and above, including competitive training, masters, disability swimming and water polo. Our team deliver more because they inspire our members to realise their potential and to go for it! We have swimmers who compete at the highest national and international levels.

Job TitleESC Assistant Performance Coach
Reporting LinesReports to Head Coach.
StatusMember of the ESC Squad team.
Key Responsibilities- Contributes to the development of the squad training plan
- Adapts squad plan to ‘fit’ their assigned group of swimmers
- Delivers the plan to the group via coaching
- Keeps records and registers
- Helps implement agreed competition plan
- Assists with team selection
- Attends all relevant meets/galas
- Reports on meets
- Attendance at Coaches meetings
- Work as part of the Squad teaching team
- Good technical swimming skills
- Ability to motivate and encourage
- Passionate and enthusiastic for the sport
- Patient and calm
- Clear and concise verbal communication skills
- Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Confident communicating via telephone and email to reporting lines, members and their families.
- Able to work without supervision
- Must be sufficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Experience of the workings of Swim England
- Flexible
- Good time management and organisation skills
- A minimum of 2 years coaching as the holder of a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award or as the holder of an Assistant Swimming Coach Certificate working towards the Swimming Coach Certificate.
- Attend all squad sessions per week as follows:
- Monday: 05:15 - 07:00 at Northolt Leisure Centre
- Monday: 09:00 - 20:30 at Dormers Wells
- Wednesday: 19:00 - 20:30 at Dormers Wells
- Friday: 05:15 - 07:00 at Northolt Leisure Centre
- Friday: 18:15 - 19:45 at Dormers Wells
- Saturday: 06:00 - 08:00 at Northolt Leisure Centre
- Sunday: 18:00 - 19:30 at Dormers Wells
- There will be a need to attend relevant swim meets.
Additional swim teaching may also be available within the club if the interested party is looking for additional hours.
Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK is required for this role.
