- Office attendance required for a minimum of two weeks in every four-week period. Rate: £50-£60 per hour, dependent on experience. Duration: 12 month contract

Key Responsibilities Design, develop and modify ABB 800xA control system applications. Develop and maintain control strategies using Function Designer and Structured Text. Configure and support AC800M controllers. Perform database engineering and bulk configuration using Bulk Data Manager. Support control system upgrades, migrations and system enhancements. Produce and review functional design specifications and technical documentation. Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities where required.

Diagnose and resolve software, hardware and communications issues. Work collaboratively with project managers, process engineers and commissioning teams to deliver project milestones. Ensure all engineering activities comply with company standards, quality procedures and applicable safety regulations. Essential Skills & Experience Minimum 10 years' experience working with ABB Distributed Control Systems. Extensive experience with ABB 800xA. Strong knowledge of AC800M controllers.

Proficient in Function Designer programming. Experience programming using Structured Text. Experience using Bulk Data Manager. Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership within a project team. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience with MOD
300 systems.

Experience with AC450 controllers. Knowledge of ABB Safeguard safety systems. Previous experience delivering ABB controller upgrade and migration projects.
