Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. Working hours

Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Possible out‑of‑hours work required.

Post title and location

Senior Dental Officer – Priority and Vulnerable Care Dentistry. Service:
Public Dental Service. Base:
Royal Alexandra Hospital and Greenock Health Centre.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide clinical management and treatment of priority group patients within the Public Dental Service.
  • Treat complex and vulnerable patients, both registered and referred to the PDS.
  • Utilise sedation and general anaesthetic techniques in fixed and mobile clinics.
  • Work 37.5 hrs per week (part‑time and job‑share requests will be considered).
  • Provide clinical care and leadership across all services within the remit, which may include the out‑of‑hours service.
Required qualifications

The post holder must be registered with the General Dental Council as a dentist.

Salary

Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
