Senior Dental Officer

Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. It provides acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Possible out‑of‑hours work required.

Senior Dental Officer – Priority and Vulnerable Care Dentistry. Service:
Public Dental Service. Base:
Royal Alexandra Hospital and Greenock Health Centre.

• Provide clinical management and treatment of priority group patients within the Public Dental Service.
• Treat complex and vulnerable patients, both registered and referred to the PDS.
• Utilise sedation and general anaesthetic techniques in fixed and mobile clinics.
• Work 37.5 hrs per week (part‑time and job‑share requests will be considered).
• Provide clinical care and leadership across all services within the remit, which may include the out‑of‑hours service.

The post holder must be registered with the General Dental Council as a dentist.

Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
