Senior Engineer – Combat Systems Installation & Commissioning

Location: Scotstoun, Scotland (Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available)

Salary: Circa £52,000 (depending on skills and experience)

• Maintaining effective partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and internal multi-disciplinary teams
• Overseeing installation of Shared Infrastructure‑related equipment on board ship
• Supporting installation inspections, harbour and sea trials where required
• Supporting integration test and trials activities involving Shared Infrastructure
• Providing a technical leadership role for elements of the Shared Infrastructure hardware
• Act as Approved Person to start up / shut down equipment under your area of responsibility
• Managing defects and Observation Reports
• Ensuring capture and maintenance of data generated for use by the project using the appropriate tools and techniques
• Accepting responsibility for and demonstrating a visible commitment to SHE and quality

• Experience of Shared Infrastructure/networking equipment
• Good influencing skills within a multi‑disciplinary team environment
• Experience of integration, installation, test, trial and acceptance of equipment
• Extensive experience of physical and functional integration of combat system equipment

• IT networking experience
  
  Electrical installation experience
• Maritime combat systems experience

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects and specific academic or professional qualifications. It is preferable if you are or will become a recognised Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution.

Engineers are encouraged and will be supported to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the correctly defined installation and commissioning of the T26 Shared Infrastructure and associated hardware. You will ensure that the installed equipment is safe, compliant and fit for use IAW with the agreed design documentation. The role will involve liaising with Operations, Planning, CS Physical Integration and CS Coordination to ensure a smooth transition from stores to ship.
