Position: TSSU Technician - Central Decontamination Unit B2

The shift pattern for this post is 12:30 – 20:30 Monday – Friday, consisting of 37 hours per week. Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.

Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Central Decontamination Unit. The core activity is the decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical devices, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. We currently have one permanent post available. No experience is required as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake on‑the‑job induction and training in all processes.
  • Complete departmental competencies.
  • Undertake all statutory and mandatory training.
  • Undertake and complete mandatory HCSW standards.
  • Carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Use basic information technology.
Qualifications & Skills
  • English and Maths qualifications at National 5 level or equivalent.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good manual dexterity.
