Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are excited to advertise a permanent post as Consultant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (0.4wte) in the Inverclyde Primary Care Mental Health Team. Building upon the work of the current post holder, this post provides the clinical leadership for the delivery of psychological therapies (PTs) within the team. Working alongside the Team Lead for the service, a key focus of this role is on taking forward work identified in a recent board‑wide benchmarking exercise in relation to the NHSGGC PCMHT Review, and critically the ongoing work in relation to the National Psychological Therapies Specification.

The post holder will be responsible for the governance of PTs, direct clinical care, consultancy to the team on psychological care, ensuring systems of PT supervision are provided for all staff, and delivery of training to multidisciplinary staff in delivering psychological therapies. The post holder will also work alongside the management team and wider psychology staffing in the board in meeting key objectives of these services.

Applications are invited from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists registered as such with the HCPC, with substantial post‑qualification experience in adult mental health and in the supervision and contribution to the leadership tasks for psychology and wider multi‑disciplinary staff.

The successful candidate will join the wider Inverclyde Psychology service comprising staff in our local CMHT, OP‑CMHT and inpatient services. The post holder will be well supported as part of the Clyde‑wide Psychology staffing, and have access to a range of professional development and CPD opportunities.
