Overview
Role overview:
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
- Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times, including opening and closing the site when required by operational hours.
- Work early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends as part of the shift pattern.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
- Adhere to and maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety checks and report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment are safe to use.
- Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
- Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
- Ensure the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness, including maintenance outside of contracted cleaning hours.
- Ensure in-house cleaners (General Assistant) clean to the highest standard.
- Maintain uniform standards across the team and yourself.
- Deliver outstanding member service.
- Foster an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves while at work.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required.
- Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
- Experience, ideally in a management position within a leisure-related industry.
- Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader in management.
- Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
- Experience in driving sales and helping to coordinate local marketing activity, as well as managing a successful team.
- Ideally experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
