Aulds is a long‑standing, family‑run bakery and food manufacturing business supplying our own retail shops, wholesale customers, independent retailers and partners across the west of Scotland. As the business continues to develop, we are looking for a commercially driven Sales Executive to focus on growth, new customer acquisition and building stronger relationships with new wholesale and partner customers. This is not a traditional sales support or audit role.

The focus of this position is new business growth. You will be expected to identify opportunities, build relationships, follow up properly and help convert new customers into long‑term profitable business. You will work closely with the Managing Director, sales team, development team and wider operational teams to identify new customer opportunities, support product concepts, build relationships and help drive profitable growth across wholesale, independent retail, larger partner accounts and new sales channels.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Identifying and developing new wholesale, independent and partner customer opportunities.
  • Building relationships with new customers, buying groups and larger multi‑site operators.
  • Proactively making calls, arranging meetings and following up with prospective customers.
  • Building and maintaining a clear pipeline of prospects, opportunities and next actions.
  • Working with the development team to support product ideas, samples and customer presentations.
  • Understanding customer needs and matching them with the right Aulds products and service model.
  • Supporting tenders, presentations, proposals and customer pricing discussions where required.
  • Working closely with internal teams to make sure new business is commercially sensible and operationally achievable.
  • Supporting seasonal, promotional and new product opportunities where they help drive growth.
  • Tracking activity and performance against agreed KPIs, including new business won, pipeline progress and customer conversion.
  • Helping the business move from mainly servicing existing customers to proactively winning new business.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in sales, business development, account development or customer‑facing commercial work.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence building relationships with new customers.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to understand margin, volume, service model and operational fit.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to create opportunities rather than waiting for enquiries.
  • Comfortable making calls, arranging meetings and following up consistently.
  • Good organisation skills, with the discipline to maintain a clear sales pipeline.
  • Able to work across office‑based planning, customer visits and field‑based sales activity.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, practical business environment.
  • Able to work closely with sales, development, production and operations teams.
  • Food, bakery, retail, wholesale or FMCG experience would be beneficial, but commercial drive and follow‑through are essential.

This is a growth‑focused role. Success will be measured by the quality and value of new business brought into the company, not simply by maintaining existing accounts.

Why Join Aulds?
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Performance‑related bonus opportunity linked to new business growth and agreed KPIs.
  • The opportunity to play a key role in growing a well‑established family business.
  • Scope to work across wholesale, partner accounts, new product development and new customer channels.
  • A practical, fast‑moving environment where good ideas can be acted on quickly.
  • The chance to help shape how Aulds approaches new business development going forward.
