Position Title: Elementary Classroom Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. This role requires a commitment to early intervention strategies and an understanding of childhood development principles to effectively support diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred
    - Experience or specialized training in subject area assigned
  • Preferred
    - Prior teaching experience
  • Preferred
    - North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining
  • Must be authorized to work in the US (we do not sponsor employment authorization)
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Knows and understands NC State Standard Course of Study to develop proficient and effective lesson plans for grade level/subject areas.
  • Demonstrates technology/instructional media competency to enhance learning
  • Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students
  • Manages various classroom behaviors and try to minimize disruptions to learning
  • Demonstrates and encourages behaviors from the GIA character program implemented school wide
  • Participates in meetings and professional development events
  • Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community
  • Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of department or grade level
  • Open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators
  • Prepares and submits lesson plans to complete learning objectives
  • Develops goals and strategies in an attempt to ensure all students reach academic growth goals
  • Ability to differentiate instruction according to student’s needs
  • Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships
  • Regularly assesses students, both formative and summative.
  • Submits progress reports and quarterly grades timely
  • Communicates with families to ensure parents and guardians are aware of student progress or struggles
  • Works and meets with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful, yet nurturing learning environment
  • Other duties assigned by the Assistant Principal and Principal
