The Department of Biology at UNC Greensboro (UNCG) seeks individuals with a strong record of accomplishment in Microbiome Biology for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research areas of particular interest are in organismal biology, with the ability to relate research to human health. Successful applicants will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, mentor undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds, make significant contributions to our Ph.D. program, teach upper-level courses that may include microbiology, physiology, cell biology, and/or genetics, and specialty courses in their discipline.
The scholarly environment in the Biology Department is highly collaborative, with synergies among faculty who study Human Health, Environmental Health, Global Change, and Biodiversity. UNCG has excellent resources to support this position, including molecular and cell biology equipment, microscopy and imaging equipment, shared equipment with the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, a competitive startup package, and a spacious research laboratory.
- Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline.
- Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
