Primary Purpose of PositionThe School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical assistant/associate professor whose teaching and clinical practice is focused on Family Nurse Practice. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student‑centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate‑level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, mentoring, and recruitment;
curriculum development; and engagement in program assessment and accreditation‑related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to incorporate modern pedagogical skills when teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate students in family health nursing, supervise and support DNP student projects, and provide service to the School of Nursing, the college, the university, and relevant community and professional organizations. This is a 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track position.
- Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
- Demonstrated pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to Family Nurse Practice.
- Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials that meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement.
- Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Family Nurse Practice.
- Nurse Educator Certification.
- Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred.
- Strong commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusiveness, collaboration, and diversity in alignment with the University’s commitment to a diverse environment.
- Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain such a license.
- National certification of APRN as Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
On‑site. Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on site.
