Position Overview
The Department of Applied Engineering Technology (AET) at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Graphics Technology, starting August 2026. The appointment will be at the assistant professor level, with consideration for a higher rank for exceptionally qualified applicants. The Department seeks candidates who can develop a collaborative, innovative research program in computer graphics, focusing on user experience and/or optimal customer experience for commerce.
The hire is expected to demonstrate teaching excellence, teaching Computer Graphics and other Applied Engineering Technology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing courses and curricula, directing student research, and providing service to the University and community.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in computer graphics, secure extramural funding, and supervise PhD and MS students in related areas. Mentoring undergraduate students is also expected. The candidate’s teaching and research should promote the mission of the Applied Engineering Technology Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology.
Responsibilities- Teach Computer Graphics and related Applied Engineering Technology courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Develop courses and curricula in computer graphics and user experience.
- Direct student research and supervise PhD and MS research activities.
- Secure extramural funding and maintain a vigorous research program in computer graphics.
- Provide service to the University and the broader community.
- Mentor undergraduate students.
- Collaborate with colleagues across sciences, mathematics, and technology areas.
- Terminal degree in user experience, interactive web design, interactive media, or a closely related design technology field.
- Industry experience in user experience development.
- Teaching experience in an accredited program.
- A sustained research record.
