Primary Purpose of Position

The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Health Services Management program invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Associate professor position. The successful applicant must have completed a PhD, Dr PH or equivalent doctoral degree in health administration, public health, public policy or closely related areas. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching, conducting research, contributing to the development of graduate programs, and providing service to the health services management program, college, University, and the profession.

The successful candidate is expected to teach (both face-to-face and distance) and develop courses in any one or combination of the fields of health administration, public policy, public health, population health, among other related areas. The successful candidate member will also advise, mentor, and guide students in preparation for graduate school or the workforce. The individual will conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and disseminate the research through other means, including presenting at conferences, workshops, seminars, and in the community.

The Department of Population Health Management and Policy is a supportive community of committed faculty and practitioners whose goals are to introduce students to the ideas and concepts relevant to the discipline, encourage interdisciplinary learning, prepare students for graduate schools, prepare students for careers in healthcare leadership and administration, and train students to conduct both basic and applied research. These goals are reached through quality classroom instruction, internship opportunities, and individualized research projects.
