The Jet Zero team

We are experienced aerospace professionals and engineers who share a vision of carbon-free flight that is better for both passengers and airlines around the world.

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our team and revolutionize the role of manufacturing planning within the aviation industry. This role focuses on collaborating within a manufacturing integrated product team to develop innovative solutions, resolve production issues with data-backed estimates, and create the tools and analyses that enable optimal scheduling, facility layouts, ergonomics, producibility, equipment capacity, and staffing for scalable future manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights, identify trends, and forecast requirements to support data-driven production planning.
  • Determine optimal production intervals aligned with resource availability and demand forecasting.
  • Use master production scheduling tools to design cost center timespans that minimize waste and scale tooling appropriately.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to reduce unnecessary movement and optimize work orders within cost centers.
  • Conduct ergonomics studies to improve worker safety and efficiency.
  • Analyze product flow to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D factory layouts to optimize production facility design for product flow and distribution.
  • Develop manufacturing requirements for A&E to ensure alignment with project specifications, operational efficiency, and production scalability.
  • Utilize discrete event simulation tools to validate manufacturing planning, perform capacity optimization, and run scenario tests for process changes.
  • Refine manufacturing requirements for MES and ERP platforms and assist with deployment preparation.
  • Design and implement data workflow processes for real-time production analysis and decision-making.
  • Establish dynamic production scheduling to improve flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Design and implement digital tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort during revisions.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to determine optimal production strategies and address capacity or quality concerns proactively.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, data science, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering operations for manufacturing; aerospace experience and early-stage manufacturing program development are desirable.
  • Experience integrating discrete event simulation, 3D factory layout, or ergonomic simulation tools into manufacturing planning.
  • Experience designing and optimizing greenfield factory layouts with space planning, workflow analysis, and resource allocation for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Strong technical expertise in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, TPS).
  • Proven ability in data analytics, trend analysis, and forecasting to optimize production schedules.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications such as PLM, ERP, and MES.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience in management or as a technical team leader
  • 1-2 years of new manufacturing program development or capture experience
  • Familiarity with Siemens Toolset (Team Center, Process Simulate, Plant Simulation)
  • Extensive Excel, VBA, or Python experience
