Skyworks is an innovator of high-performance analog semiconductors. The Acoustic Filter Design Co‑Op offers a challenging and exciting environment for students working with our SAW/BAW filter design team, focusing on the design, development, and integration of acoustic‑wave filters in high‑end smartphone modules. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform modeling, design, integration, and device characterization tasks, present design progress and formal reviews, and help ensure compliance with specifications using simulation and measured results.
Responsibilities- Design acoustic wave filters for integration into RF modules, while meeting demanding schedules, best‑in‑class performance, and critical size and cost requirements
- Follow Skyworks best engineering practices to ensure reliability, sustainability, and delivery of a high production yield
- Drive new architectures and ideas to continuously improve filter and module performance to maintain a competitive edge for Skyworks products
- Conduct design reviews and present quantitative data to demonstrate compliance to internal or customer specifications based on simulation and measured results
- Work closely with module and systems teams to set appropriate goals for filter performance criteria
- Interact with technology and fabrication teams to ensure continuous performance improvements and to steer BU roadmaps
- Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS, MS, or PhD program
- Must be able to commit to a 6 month Co‑op term (June/July – December 2026)
- Must possess solid RF fundamental knowledge; experience with RF MEMS or RF acoustics is a plus
- Familiarity with ADS, HFSS and other RF simulation tools; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Familiarity with SAW/BAW filters
- Familiarity with cellular RF systems
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 – $47.50 per hour, and for a Non‑Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 – $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
