Position Summary

In general, the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the University's preventive maintenance program. This position performs administrative and technical work in planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities across campus facilities and operations. This position is specifically responsible for creating the look ahead schedule for the trades/crews assigned.

In addition, they must have strong knowledge of how utility systems are interconnected and what is required to safely work on them without having unintended consequences.

Work includes collaborating with trade shops, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The role requires a strong emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance planning, efficient resource utilization, and adherence to industry best practices.

Handles project management for small projects that are under $100,000 and that are not under the oversight of the State Construction Office.

Depending on the work environment, the Planner/Scheduler may also lead, or support programs related to sustainable energy practices, asbestos abatement, environmental compliance, refrigerant management, and other key initiatives that align with UNCG's mission and operational goals. Additional duties as assigned.
