The Role at a GlanceThe ADP Program Overview
The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial’ s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders. As an ADP participant, you’ll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed. The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months.
For each rotation, roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Experience gained will enable participants to become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge that may include Product Development, Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Investments, Data Analytics, and Internal Audit.
ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries’ exams at a prescribed pace. The program is designed to support you as you work towards your FSA and provide the training and resources necessary to become a well-rounded actuarial leader.

As an Associate Actuary, you will support pricing for Lincoln’s annuity products where you will be responsible for:
Pricing Analysis
- Perform pricing analysis using vendor or internally developed software, analyze pricing results for annuity contract and rider benefits, determine appropriate assumptions, and model product features.
- Collaborate with Product Development team on product design to meet or exceed profitability or sales objectives.
- Present results to team members, key business partners, and management.
Risk Analysis
- Evaluate potential changes in product design, investment options, valuation and/or capital requirements, and the benefits and limitations of hedging strategies on product risk and profitability.
Actuarial / Technical Support
- Maintain existing actuarial models and tools, and proactively identify and implement improvements.
- Develop tools and support product team according to business needs.
Special Projects
- Participate in ad hoc projects related to product development, implementation, inforce management, and corporate risk management initiatives such as ERM and capital management.
Pricing Documentation
- Prepare reports summarizing pricing analysis and results, including documentation of assumptions and methodology.
- Build relationships across different business units
- Collaborate with team members and other actuarial associates
- Receive coaching and mentorship from senior actuarial associates and leaders
- Support the group’s actuarial initiatives and on-going business needs
- Complete assigned projects and impactful outputs
- 3-6+ years of experience in actuarial science
- At least 7 actuarial exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing towards FSA designation
- Driven, motivated and resourceful problem-solvers with critical thinking skills who are eager to learn, are coachable and committed to the rotational program parameters laid out by Lincoln.
- Sufficient experience on actuarial software. Knowledge of AXIS is a plus.
