The Assistant Director of Finance and Process Improvement serves as a strategic partner to the Director of Finance for Campus Enterprises. This position is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing improvements in financial processes, practices, and organizational effectiveness across Campus Enterprises and affiliated units, including Student Affairs and Athletics. The role ensures compliance with spending guidelines by reviewing all financial requests prior to approval, develops opportunities to increase operational efficiency, assists in creating and monitoring analytical reports, and provides summary‑level financial reviews for leadership.
The Assistant Director will also influence and maintain continuous updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices.
- Evaluate, plan, and implement improvements in financial processes and organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with spending guidelines and review all financial requests before approval.
- Develop opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
- Assist in creating and monitoring analytical reports.
- Provide summary‑level financial reviews for leadership.
- Influence and maintain continuous updates to SOPs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Five years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or process improvement.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- All degrees must be obtained from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Certification in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma).
