Salary InformationHourly Rate: $17.21
Work ScheduleMonday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:00 am‑5:00 pm

- Hourly Employment:
Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays. - Limited
Hours:
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12-month period. - Pension System:
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

About the RoleSolid Waste Compliance is responsible for identifying, inspecting, documenting, and enforcing violations of City Code related to solid waste, recycling, and public street cleaning compliance. This position supports the Solid Waste Division, Code Enforcement, and other supporting departments by ensuring compliance with seasonal collection programs, cart placement requirements, illegal dumping regulations, and public health and safety standards. Requirements NeededMinimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED OR an equivalency of no high school diploma, but at least 0.4 years of directly‑related experience or training.
- Knowledge of City Code related to solid waste, recycling, yard waste, and public right‑of‑way regulations.
- Ability to interpret and enforce municipal codes and policies fairly and consistently.
- Strong observational, documentation, and investigative skills.
- Ability to use mobile devices, digital forms (Jot Form), and cameras for field documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, business owners, and vulnerable populations.
