The certified nursing assistant at the Student Health Center functions as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team that provides direct patient care and clinical support in a variety of clinics.

Obtain vital signs, patient chief concern, drug allergies, current medication, past medical history, assist patient with completing the GYN form, prepare patient for gynecological examination or medical procedure, and enter information into a computer-based information system.

Provide professional customer service to the UNCG community, address patient concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner, assist with communicating patient needs to a multidisciplinary health care staff, ensure nursing care is communicated to the client prior to the procedure, assist patients with navigating the health clinic, and provide professional phone etiquette.

Maintain infection control standards with cleaning and disinfecting equipment, use of appropriate protective equipment, follow established protocols, understand use of medical equipment including pulse oximeters, automated blood pressure machines, thermometers, wheelchairs, exam tables, exam lights, Dymo label printers, and the pneumatic tube system.

Order supplies and stock the room, track pap, maintain brochures, operate office equipment (fax, printer, scanner), enter data, and perform additional duties as needed.

• Must be a certified nursing assistant with at least one year of experience.

• At least 3 years’ experience as a CNA in a medical clinic or office setting.
