- Coordinating and processing payroll for Friends Homes team members with accuracy and confidentiality
- Reviewing and verifying payroll data and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Collaborating with the finance department to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Coordinating employee performance evaluation schedules and entering merit pay increases into the system
- Processing employment verifications and forwarding garnishments, child support payments, and deductions to Paycor each pay period
- Collecting data and submitting Payroll‑Based Journal (PBJ) reports monthly
- Reviewing and recommending improvements to payroll practices, policies, and internal controls
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll processing
- Proficiency with major payroll/HRIS systems
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn new systems as needed
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment/payroll regulations
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to effectively communicate and complete required tasks, including training and documentation
- Strongly prefer experience with Paycor
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR)
- Experience with systems like Paycor, Kronos, ADP
- Payroll experience in a client‑facing or service‑driven environment
