What You’ll Do
  • Coordinating and processing payroll for Friends Homes team members with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Reviewing and verifying payroll data and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Collaborating with the finance department to resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Coordinating employee performance evaluation schedules and entering merit pay increases into the system
  • Processing employment verifications and forwarding garnishments, child support payments, and deductions to Paycor each pay period
  • Collecting data and submitting Payroll‑Based Journal (PBJ) reports monthly
  • Reviewing and recommending improvements to payroll practices, policies, and internal controls
Requirements Required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency with major payroll/HRIS systems
  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and the ability to learn new systems as needed
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment/payroll regulations
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to effectively communicate and complete required tasks, including training and documentation
Preferred
  • Strongly prefer experience with Paycor
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR)
  • Experience with systems like Paycor, Kronos, ADP
  • Payroll experience in a client‑facing or service‑driven environment
