DC Operations Manager in Training – O'Reilly Auto Parts
MUST BE OPEN TO RELOCATION**
Responsibilities- Assist the DC manager in directing the day‑to‑day operations of a single distribution center.
- Assist in direction of operations and communicate extensively with the distribution center manager on all matters pertaining to the operation of the DC.
- Oversee all aspects of a single distribution center, including service, physical assets, operating costs, and team members.
- Ensure the DC is compliant with company operations, policies and procedures on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Maintain payroll, budgeting, inventory integrity, productivity, etc.
- Provide training, guidance, and counseling to each DC team member.
- Manage a staff of 1‑15 supervisors and up to 300 hourly team members.
- Provide excellent leadership throughout the DC and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
- Work with the DC manager to establish annual goals and execute the plan to accomplish them.
- Work closely with DC manager and HR to support team members and others for effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
- Conduct on‑time evaluations for all team members.
- Assist the DC manager with planning to prepare the annual operating budget.
- Work with each supervisor to monitor expenditures within the department and coordinate with the DC manager for approval on any expenditure.
- Obtain approval on all expenses that exceed $1,000.
- Provide a safe working environment and aggressively manage all risk and risk‑related costs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Above average computer skills.
- 2+ years of experience as a distribution center supervisor with a proven record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple departments within one center.
- College degree or logistics certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
