Job SummaryThe Electromechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal operation per manufacturer specifications and production requirements.
Primary Responsibilities- Service, repair, adjust, and test manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Learn production equipment processes to support troubleshooting and operations.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including motors, VFDs, PLCs, and high/low voltage applications.
- Safely work inside electrical panels and understand all component functions.
- Read and interpret wiring schematics and machine manuals.
- Troubleshoot safety switches and circuits.
- Perform welding and use acetylene torch as needed.
- Operate and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance on gearboxes and conveyors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), food safety, and SQF requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate degree preferred. - Minimum 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Skilled in installing and maintaining pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, and bushings.
- Proficient with automation, production, and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Team-oriented and respectful in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Capable of performing basic math, reading, writing, and accurately recording data.
- Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
- Comfortable working in wet, humid, or variable conditions, including exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and nut allergens.
- May work 12‑hour shifts on a fixed schedule rotation, including holidays.
- Must lift up to 50 lbs.; frequent walking, bending, squatting, and climbing ladders/stairs required.
