Duration: 12 month contract

Pay rate: $ 22.75/hour

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

** LABORATORY / MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST*
* ** Position Summary*
* Performs research, laboratory, manufacturing, production, and logistics activities in a regulated environment. Records observations, measurements, and results while maintaining clean rooms, equipment, materials, and documentation. Supports manufacturing and supply operations through production coordination, equipment troubleshooting, inventory management, order processing, and process optimization. Relies on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals and may provide direction to junior employees and paraprofessional staff.

** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Laboratory & Research*
* + Perform research activities and laboratory procedures as directed.

+ Record observations, measurements, test results, and other technical data accurately.

+ Report findings and maintain appropriate laboratory documentation.

+ Assist with receipt, inspection, organization, and storage of raw materials.

+ Order and maintain adequate supplies, materials, and laboratory equipment.

+ Clean, disinfect, and maintain clean rooms, laboratory areas, and equipment in accordance with established procedures.

+ Follow applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

** Manufacturing & Production*
* + Manufacture active ingredients and intermediates into raw materials according to established procedures.

+ Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot various formulation and manufacturing equipment.

+ Perform routine and non-routine production operations safely and efficiently.

+ Support production activities while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

+ Coordinate manufacturing activities and provide guidance and assistance to junior employees and paraprofessionals.

+ Optimize manufacturing infrastructure and workflows using Lean methodologies and other process-improvement strategies.

** Agricultural / Seed Production*
* + Execute production activities associated with crop protection and seed production.

+ Support production of small-seeded vegetables and crops, including broccoli, cauliflower, celery, squash, and similar crops.

+ Coordinate activities to ensure a high-quality, reliable, and timely supply of materials is delivered to the facility.

+ Monitor production priorities and collaborate with specialists to test and implement new production concepts.

** Supply Chain & Logistics*
* + Provide logistics and internal order-management support, including order processing and distribution-related transactions.

+ Coordinate off-site inventory management and monitor material availability.

+ Communicate scheduling, production priorities, inventory requirements, and shipping needs among internal and external stakeholders.

+ Coordinate third-party cleaning vendors and related service activities.

+ Collaborate with manufacturing plants, transportation teams, storage facilities, and other internal partners.

+ Identify opportunities to modify and improve logistics and order-management processes.

** Leadership & Process Improvement*
* + Coordinate and provide direction to paraprofessional and entry-level employees as needed.

+ Assist with planning and execution of operational goals and priorities.

+ Use experience and judgment to identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.

+ Recommend process modifications designed to improve efficiency, quality, and overall operations.

+ Collaborate with technical specialists and cross-functional teams to implement new processes and production concepts.

+ Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and sound judgment in addressing complex operational challenges.

** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field may be required.

+ Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, production, agriculture, logistics, or a related technical environment.

+ Knowledge of applicable laboratory, manufacturing, safety, and quality practices.

+ Familiarity with industry concepts, practices, procedures, and equipment.

+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

+ Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities, manage priorities, and support continuous improvement.
