SHE Manager II

Location:

Greensboro, North Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview This position will manage the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) programs for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. The role requires a blend of facility safety and process safety expertise, providing leadership and technical guidance to support continuous operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the plant manager and will be responsible for leading a team of two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, coaching, and support to site management teams on all SH&E matters.

Ensure reporting discipline within SH&E management systems, lead compliance audits, and manage record-keeping.

Develop, analyze, and report on KPIs and metrics to drive improvements in TRIR and Process Safety performance.

Lead site investigations for incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Review and evaluate work environments to design programs and procedures that control and mitigate risks.

Ensure conformity to global SH&E policies and applicable federal and state regulatory requirements.

Lead and support the site's 24/7 production operations through effective technical guidance and escalation processes.

Manage all environmental, waste, and water programs, including annual AWS certification.

Provide some on-call support as needed for the continuous manufacturing site.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

A minimum of seven to ten years of overall safety experience, with at least four to five years in a leadership or management capacity. Experience must include both facility safety and process safety within a chemical, biopharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing environment. Leadership experience without direct reports can be considered.

Skills:

Demonstrated project management, coaching, training, and mentoring abilities. Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to influence collaboration across the organization. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with personal safety and behavior-based safety programs.

Experience with hazardous materials and process safety management (PSM).Experience in a World Class Manufacturing environment.

Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP).Experience in policy development and Safety Management Systems.
