The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Family Success Center Job Coach for the Center of Hope, located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
OverviewJob Summary:
The Family Success Center Job Coach / Case Manager will identify barriers and assist families in setting goals to achieve self-sufficiency with the hopes of breaking intergenerational poverty.
- Identify barriers to family self-sufficiency and assist families in setting achievable goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to support families in achieving self-sufficiency and breaking intergenerational poverty.
Skills and Abilities
- Maintain participant and agency confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with participants and stakeholders.
- Problem-solve, exercise discretion and judgment, and make independent decisions.
- Collaborate effectively, provide leadership, and apply creative and independent thinking.
- Develop and implement successful strategic plans.
- Understand financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics.
- Understand barriers and challenges for families living at or below the poverty line.
- Build rapport and maintain professionalism; engage in work independently and within a team.
- Navigate Microsoft or other web-based data management systems used by The Salvation Army.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college required. Degree in social work or clinical practice preferred. - Experience:
2+ years’ experience related to working with members experiencing poverty. - Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
- Must possess current State of North Carolina driver’s license.
- Background check approval is required.
- Duties are usually performed seated; sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional standing or walking.
- Light lifting and carrying of objects (less than 25 lbs.) may be required.
- Work is usually in a normal office environment with limited physical discomforts; may be performed in shelter environments.
