Description:
This facility is licensed for 457 beds. It is a Level 3 trauma center. The facility is a recognized Stroke Center of Excellence. It also holds the designation of a Bariatric Center of Excellence and a Chest Pain Center. The Client Fetal Medicine unit handles referrals. The average census in the unit is 9-10 patients daily, with 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms.
The typical monthly delivery rate is 60-65. Patient care includes high-risk antepartum, labor, and immediate postpartum situations. Common diagnoses include pre-eclampsia and other hypertension disorders of pregnancy. The patient ratios are 1:1-2 for laboring RNs. Support staff includes a secretary, scrub tech, charge nurse, phlebotomy team, IV/VAT team, and 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist availability. Anesthesia and CRNA teams are also on-site.
The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. Additional equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medical dispensing. Floating may be required within the region, necessitating flexibility in job duties. Weekend rotations occur every other week, and no on-call shifts are required. Traveling nurses will work 75% of holidays and may request up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. Shifts typically run from or .
