American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a NC or compact RN license.

• PCU/cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit setting
• Primary focus on cardiac patients including CHF, rule-out MI, ACS, and arrhythmias
• Secondary focus on respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia
• Patient diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, NSTEMI, COPD, and pneumonia
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required as needed, including to any Cone Health campus

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG monitoring
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath care and TR band management preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin/cardiac drips preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required for address verification

• Provide cardiac and respiratory monitoring and care within a PCU/telemetry setting
• Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation, CVP monitoring, and feeding tube management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rates offered
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• Study materials for the EKG compliance exam are not provided by the facility
