Pet Vet Care Centers' Friendly Animal Clinic is seeking a part‑time Kennel Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks. The role involves caring for pets, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming environment for staff and clients.
Position OverviewThe Kennel Assistant supports a high‑quality care team and ensures the hospital remains safe and clean.
Key Responsibilities- Provides compassionate care to pets.
- Feeds animals as prescribed, records appetites, water intake, and excretion.
- Recognizes and reports unusual conditions or abnormal behaviors and monitors pets for signs of distress or disease.
- Assists veterinarians and technicians with pet restraint.
- Maintains hospital cleanliness: cleans equipment and facilities, uses chemicals safely, and sanitizes cages, runs, wards, and related areas.
- Performs weekly and monthly chore lists to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Prioritizes tasks correctly and maintains laundry for kennel and hospital.
- Provides fresh, clean bedding and walks patients as scheduled.
- Follows oral and written directions.
- Performs other duties as assigned and remains professional and courteous to clients and co‑workers.
- Communicates service and health recommendations to clients.
- Handles difficult or aggressive patients safely.
- 1 year of veterinary kennel experience.
- More than 2 years of veterinary kennel experience.
- Part‑time
- Day shift with 2–3 weekends per month.
