Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. This role ensures product conformity across machining, forming, assembly and paint operations, oversees inspection and metrology systems, leads First Article Inspections (FAI), and drives continuous improvement in quality performance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and improve the AS9100/AS9110 Quality Management System, act as Management Representative.
- Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Oversee inspection operations including first-piece, in-process, and final inspection.
- Manage and support advanced inspection systems:
- CMM (programming, operation, validation)
- FARO Arm / portable CMM
- Lead and approve First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Manage nonconforming material, MRB, corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as the primary quality interface with internal and external customers.
- Develop, coach, and lead quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Drive reduction of scrap, rework, and customer escapes.
- Partner with Operations and Engineering to support production and on-time delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years aerospace quality experience with one or all of the following manufacturing environments: machining, forming, assemblies.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace customer requirements.
- Hands-on experience with:
- CMM programming and validation
- FARO Arm or portable metrology systems
- Extensive experience with First Article Inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
- Experience supporting major aerospace customers.
- Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement background.
- NADCAP exposure (if applicable).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools. Must be able to travel occasionally.
Working EnvironmentThe working environment is corporate office facility. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
