primary purpose of the organizational unit

facilities operations has the responsibility of providing a wide range of services to all administrative departments, student programs, and all academic schools and departments. Services include all aspects of corrective and preventive maintenance, operations, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, utility infrastructure maintenance and operations, business operations, safety, regulator compliance, project management, and renovations. These duties are conducted for a campus consisting of 100 buildings totaling 6 million gross square feet on nearly 300 acres.

position summary

this is a skilled position with responsibility to operate, maintain, repair and upgrade as directed the electrical systems on campus. This position also performs hardware and software preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
primary responsibilities include:

• repair of electrical systems
• maintenance of all electrical equipment
• construction – in house

duties and tasks included:

• repair of electrical systems
• perform preventative maintenance
• maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• electrical work in support of in-house renovation/construction projects
• submit labor and materials reports to supervisor
• ensure sufficient materials are available

this position is a mandatory position as defined in the adverse weather and emergency event policy.

minimum qualifications

high school diploma or equivalency ; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work . Some positions may require special licenses or certification . Optional guidelines : experience in the trade area related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year - for - year basis .

a valid driver’s license.
