• Hourly Employment

  Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
• Limited Hours
  :
  Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
• Pension System
  :
  Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about building better lives and a better community for the position of lifeguard at the year‑round indoor pool located at Smith Active Adult Center. The lifeguard will oversee open swim times and aquatics classes for active adults ages 50 and over. The lifeguard will exercise safety measures to prevent accidents in and around the pool area;

as well as enforce rules, regulations, and policies; respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care in accordance with American Red Cross Lifeguard training; rescue and resuscitate; provide customer service to patrons, and clean the facility. The lifeguard may also assist with routine pool maintenance and teach learn to swim classes, based on certifications.
This year‑round position is part‑time with the ability to work up to 1000 hours in a calendar year. Must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.

This position is Non‑Exempt under FLSA policy.

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• CPR‑AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification

• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
