Job Description:

Sample Distribution Warehouse/Lab Technician

• Under the direction of the team lead or technician, perform chemical warehouse and laboratory responsibilities such as chemical sample fulfillment, retrieval, mixing, and decanting using material handling equipment and labware.
• Fill samples from source containers including drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs).
• Mix and decant chemicals with air-powered drum mixers, pumps, drum cradles, lab reciprocal shakers, and scoops.
• Package sample shipments using box assembly, heat sealers, tape machines and similar equipment.
• Use inventory management software to process sample shipments, adjust inventory, and maintain data.
• Assist with physical inventories of warehouse areas and with warehouse/laboratory organization projects.
• Complete administrative tasks related to sample request fulfillment (printing documents, labeling samples).
• Compile data, update spreadsheets and electronic databases.
• Assist with customer inquiries and historical record research tasks and data management projects.
• Organize email communications to individuals and groups; transcribe notes, scan and file documents.

• Must have strong attention to detail and be capable of interpreting numerical instructions.
• Must understand metric measurements and perform basic unit conversions.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication.
• Must be safety-conscious and capable of meeting sampling requirements in an efficient manner.
• Must be capable of Respirator physical fitness clearance and wearing a respirator for limited durations in handling chemicals.
• Must be capable of standing/walking in warehouse/laboratory for extended durations during shift.
• Must be able to lift ≤ 50 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to move/lift heavy loads with material handling equipment (pallet jacks, drum lifters, dollies, carts).
• Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
• Fork-lift experience or certification preferred.
• Familiarity with IATA/DOT shipping regulations and/or Lean manufacturing concepts would be highly regarded.

The Sample Distribution Team operates a normal 40-hour workweek during normal weekday business hours (7am – 5pm). Seasonal overtime (including weekend work) may be required between February and June due to business demand.
