Medical Laboratory Scientist I Generalist

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I Generalist for Greensburg, IN. The position is Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm with a pay range of $23.45+ per hour and available shift differentials of 10% for some or all hours on the second shift and 15% for some or all hours on the third shift. Eligible candidates may also receive an annual performance bonus compensation.

Sign‑on bonuses are available to external candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested identically to patient specimens.
  • Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
  • Review and release test results.
  • Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
  • Follow laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are not within acceptable performance levels.
  • Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
Qualifications
  • BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
  • 1 year clinical experience with high‑complexity testing preferred.
