About the RoleFull‑time position available for all three shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at the Greensburg, IN plant. The role focuses on leading and developing a team of Equipment Service Technicians to maintain and improve facility equipment and utilities.
Pay Information$45.79 per hour.
Job PurposeThis position joins the Facilities department within Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC. The department handles new construction, remodels, utility management (electric, compressed air, natural gas, water), building maintenance, equipment replacements, and upgrades. The goal is to create a supportive, high‑quality facility for customers and employees.
Role DescriptionLead a shift of 3–5 Equipment Service Technicians to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, improvements, and reporting, ensuring high customer service in building, equipment, and utility operations. Tasks include prioritizing repairs, minimizing downtime, receiving calls, directing manpower, and communicating with the Equipment Service Coordinator and other shift leaders.
Develop associate skills through hands‑on training while introducing technologies and efficiency improvements.
Key Accountabilities- Direct shift team manpower, prioritize repairs, communicate with management, receive calls, and assign Maximo work orders for preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building controls) to maintain production, ensuring completion per work instructions and frequency.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements for better availability, capability, and yield; suggest and revise preventative maintenance and establish/modify it for new installations.
- Perform equipment failure analysis, troubleshoot and diagnose problems, attend plant daily SQP meetings or delegate as necessary.
- Participate in reliability‑centered maintenance programs, develop and maintain long‑term equipment reliability, support total equipment management, promote business targets and objectives, and lead team in shift‑to‑shift meetings.
- Provide mentorship and team‑building, share knowledge, expand technical expertise through formal and on‑the‑job training, and engage in activities that drive new ideas and technology for Honda’s competitiveness.
Minimum Education al
Qualifications:
Completion of a 2‑year technical degree or equivalent equipment service experience.- Minimum Experience: Desired 5 years in a Facilities environment (industrial or heavy commercial); entry‑level candidates considered if well‑qualified.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, such as HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, plumbing, and piping.
- Knowledge of low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical equipment (substations, switches, cable, starters, drives) and Building Management Systems.
- Skill in troubleshooting electrical control circuits up to medium voltage (4160 V) motors and contractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compliance with Honda Health and Safety Policies.
- Computer proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience with facilities systems (Maximo, Eco Struxure Building Operation, Novar, Simplex, Siemens, Power logic, etc.).
- Self‑motivated, creative thinking, positive attitude, continuous improvement orientation, and customer‑service driven.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritize assignments, submit schedules, set milestones, and analyze data to identify root causes and develop counter‑measures.
- High physical activity, walking, stairs, climbing, roof work, hot/cold conditions.
- Participation in Honda Improvement Program activities.
- Interior and exterior facilities mechanical rooms and manufacturing floor environment.
- Infrequent trips to other plants or suppliers.
- Collaboration with production, equipment service associates, and contractors.
- Willingness to work weekends, all shifts, overtime, and shutdowns as required.
