American Traveler is hiring an RN
- Medical Surgical with at least 1 year of experience and an active PA or Compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Rotating day/night shifts (3x12 hours) with possible accommodation for nights only
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access
• Experience with GI care including ostomy and feeding tube management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing renal and genitourinary conditions including CBI and dialysis
• Medication administration experience including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE experience
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience
• Knowledge of rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience in neurological, orthopedic, and endocrine patient care preferred
• SSN, DOB, driver's license, and RTO required for consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred

• Provide direct patient care across a broad range of medical-surgical conditions including GI, respiratory, renal, and orthopedic cases
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years before applying through an agency
• Travelers are limited to a cumulative one year of assignments within the health system, followed by a required two-year break before returning
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• First-time travelers may be considered
