Ultrasonographer Perinatal – Maternal Fetal Medicine

GHR has partnered with a premiere hospital system to recruit and hire a MFM Sonographer for a contract position in Greenville, NC.

  • 8‑hour days, 8 A‑5 P
  • Monday–Friday, no weekends
  • Pay: $80.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with specialization in general and perinatal procedures.
  • Active ARDMS OB/GYN certification and current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Familiarity with AIUM standard OB exam protocols.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and carrying objects.
  • Regularly lift objects up to 15 lbs.
  • Requires strong sensory abilities, including accurate vision and hearing.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment with repetitive motion, fine motor activities, and occasional climbing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive ultrasound procedures following established protocols, including first, second, and third‑trimester scans, fetal Doppler studies, and biophysical profiles.
  • Prepare and document high‑quality images and reports for physician interpretation.
  • Provide empathetic patient education and support, especially during stressful or challenging situations.
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary care reviews and assist physicians with outpatient procedures, such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and report failures promptly.
  • Ensure proper patient and image identification throughout the imaging process.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations for weekends and holidays; demonstrate flexibility to assist on weekdays as needed.
  • Utilize radiology and hospital systems efficiently to manage patient information.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well‑stocked clinical areas.
  • Support the training of new ultrasonographers and students as required.
